Campuses

Since the Ohio Part-Time Faculty Association formed in January 2013, campuses around the state have begun to educate and organize their part-time faculty to advocate for better working conditions for adjuncts — and better learning conditions for their students.

To share information about your campus’s advocacy for part-time faculty, send an email to optfa@newfacultymajority.info. You can also post a comment below.

Below are links to advocacy work going on at colleges and universities around the state, along with links to PDFs of pertinent public records OPTFA has collected from institutions across the state.

Philip, thank you for sharing your story about adjunct teaching at Terra State. We recommend that you visit the New Faculty Majority website at http://www.newfacultymajority.info/equity/ and join that organization. We also invite you to join OPTFA as soon as we have our membership terms established.

I work at Terra State Community College in Fremont, and they do nothing to advocate for adjuncts even though we teach 60 to 65% of the classes. We have to share two offices with over 200 people, we don’t even get our own desk. The office I used to use was just taken away to again make sure that full time faculty were taken care of. Please tell me what I can do to help your cause.
