OPTFA summer schedule

Spring term is over, but the Ohio Part-Time Faculty Association will hold regular meetings throughout the summer — and we have a picnic on the schedule as well.

What: Are invited to attend a picnic sponsored by the OPTFA

Why: So that part-time faculty from our area and beyond can meet to share information, experiences and opportunities as they engage with our organization and each other.

When: Sunday, June 30, 1-4 p.m.

Where: Deep Lock Quarry Metro Park5779 Riverview Rd., Peninsula 44264 Get the park map.

What to bring: OPTFA will provide beverages and snacks for all. If you want to take advantage of the park experience, pack a picnic meal to enjoy with your family/friends.

RSVP: We ask that you RSVP to optfa@newfacultymajority.info with the number of people who will attend so that we can have enough beverages and snacks on hand. Please respond by Friday, June 28

Summer OPTFA meetings

OPTFA meets on the fourth Sunday of each month at 6 p.m. and on the fourth Wednesday of each month at noon, unless otherwise noted. Read OPTFA Meeting Reports.

All meetings are held at the office of New Faculty Majority and the OPTFA, unless otherwise noted. The address is Copley Commons, 2830 Copley Rd., Suite 26, Copley, Ohio 44321.

OPTFA meets Wednesday in Mentor

Spring semester is over, but OPTFA is not taking a summer break. Join us for our May meeting as we take advantage of the momentum we built using our May Day Rally for Equity, our social media campaigns via Twitter and Facebook, and our involvement in the Campaign for the Future of Higher Education‘s 5th Meeting last weekend in Columbus.

OPTFA usually meets on the fourth Wednesday and fourth Sunday of each month, but due to the Memorial Day weekend, we will meet only at noon on Wednesday, May 22, this month. We will not meet on Sunday.

rally newsAs we reported yesterday, OPTFA’s May Day Rally for Equity at the University of Akron was a huge success, with about 100 adjuncts, full-time faculty, staff, students and community members coming out during a three-hour period to support a living wage & health care for adjuncts at UA.
